Take01 is a teleprompter for iPhone and iPhone Duo: your script sits right next to the camera, follows your voice as you read, and turns each take into a video with captions spelled the way you wrote them.

Getting started

  1. 01Open Take01 and allow the camera and microphone.
  2. 02Read the practice script out loud. It follows your voice; you never have to scroll.
  3. 03Say “Go” to start a take and “Cut” to stop, or tap Record and Stop.
  4. 04After the take, use Export for 9:16, 1:1 or 16:9, with or without captions, or the captions file (SRT).

On iPhone Duo

Stand it half open like a book, outer screen facing you, at eye level about an arm's length away. You read on the outer screen right beside the camera; the inner screen shows your shot and becomes the studio when opened flat.

Common questions

Check that speech recognition is allowed (Settings › Privacy & Security › Speech Recognition › Take01) and that the script's language is right (edit the script › Language). Some languages need an internet connection.

Speak the command on its own, with a short pause before it. Commands work in the script's language: English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, German and Italian.

Takes stay in Take01 until you delete them (Settings › Storage). Exports go wherever you send them from the share sheet, such as Photos or Files.

Recordings are 1080p by default (about 50 MB a minute). Settings › Storage shows how much takes use and can clear old ones while keeping your starred take for each script.

Settings › Branding. They appear on exported videos; your takes stay clean.
